Every hand signs the book on the way in. New entries are recorded on the pits until the yard master directs otherwise. Complete both fields in block capitals.
Shed directions are reserved to the yard master (see Standing Order 9).
A chit names the yard, the mark it was cut for and the role that mark works under. Hand it to a friend and the gate puts them on the books under the same role. Retain the counterfoil.
Deliver a mould box and the checker draws one still frame off it so the gang can see how the clay took. The shed only knows the yard's own mould boxes; anything else is returned to the sender.
